Years ago I tried to start a bike brand (Woodward Bicycle Company). To save money on engineering, I did not have a bike in my traditional bike size manufactured (I am 6'-8" and normally ride a 61 or 63 cm road bike). This seat post allows me to actually ride the bike I developed for my bike brand. As it turns out, even with the ridiculous height of the seat, I am actually quite comfortable on the bike. It's now my beer fetching bike.
Plastic threaded screws prevent water from entering the frame through unused eyelets.
Replaced the original quillstem and straight handlebar on my 1987 Stumpjumper Comp with VO 2 bolt quill stem and Granola bar. to have a more up right position..Ideal for my 85 year old body. Works great for me.T.M.
Great upgrade for my Raleigh Sports
Mojave Water Bottle Cage for Nalgenes
I dislike praising one and knocking the other but here goes: I got the City Bike levers first for my Left Bank handlebars setup (great bars). I love the City Bike lever look, that long lever with that knob on the end; gorgeous!
However, with my brakes anyway (Tektro R559) the brake feel was spongy, not precise. I decided to give the Grand Cru levers a shot. I wasn't enamored with the look of them compared to the City Levers but I hoped to get a better brake feel. So the same exact setup, same brakes, cables and housing. CityBike lever on the right side, Grand Cru on the left. Wow, what a difference, absolutely no play or sloppiness with the Gran Cru lever. Precise braking force (modulation), absolutely beautiful. With both Grand Cru levers on, out on the road or trail, just wonderful. I also have to say I have small hands and the lever reach adjustment really helps. The City levers do not have this reach adjustment capability. I added brake lever "gloves" on a whim. They're cheap and available everywhere.
Now don't get me wrong, the City levers work - they will stop the bike and I'm sure I'll find a use for them (just not on my bike 😉).
These brakes are worth every penny!!! Amazing stopping power, modulation, and feel…seriously impressive
Tossed these on my urban commuter GT Timberline… good back sweep for comfort, but not so much that it impacts control. Also and not too wide for snaking through traffic. Good balance between flat bar nimbleness and a cruiser style comfort
I replaced my Campy triple on my ‘73 Schwinn Paramount with these cranks. It made my gearing much more straightforward with an easier low gear. The chainrings shifts very nicely.
I used the VO sealed bottom bracket. When I first installed the crankset, the chainrings wobbled a bit. Installing them 180 degrees reduced the wobble significantly.
Overall I’m quite pleased with these cranks, and they look very nice.
Easy to install, fit perfectly, reasonably priced.
Replaced an adjustable angle stem that weighed a ton and kept developing slop in the angle pivot joint. Much lighter, more solid, and easier to walk the bike in and out of garage, office, etc.
It's a cool-looking stem that is priced right. I have three of them, two silver and one black. The stem looks dainty and is very light, so much so that I emailed Velo-Orange if it is suitable for mountain biking. Their answer is "yes." I highly recommend getting VO's thin spacers to pair with the stem. I bought two 5mm bronze spacers to give two of my bikes a personal touch. Unless you need a 35mm stem or shorter, there is no downside to this...other than my handlebar bag hiding this beauty!
