Randonneur Frame, semi-custom

Our Randonneur frame is built for long distance rides. This could be cyclo-touring, an inn-to-inn trip, or a long distance event. It is not a touring bike suitable for heavy loads, nor is it a racing bike where performance is the only goal, rather it is a mix of the two.

It is made to be an integrated bike with mounts for fenders, a front rack, pump, and a proper slap guard. The stock brake mounts are for Paul Racers, which we believe are the best brakes on the planet.

The Rando frame is built on a semi-custom basis. The frame is designed specifically for you. Our emphasis is on good fit and superb craftsmanship. By limiting options, paint colors and fancy lugwork we can build top quality frame at a price not far above a good production frame.

Specifications for the Velo Orange semi-custom Randonneur frame are as follows:

* Each frame is built to measure based on your measurements, weight, and riding preferences.

* Henry James lugs. Richard Sachs fork crown. Columbus, Dedacciai, or NOS Reynolds 531 tubes

* Extended head tube (15mm)

* Head tube and seat tube angle: 73-degrees, Trail: 45mm

* BB drop of about 75mm and chain stays of 44.5cm, but dimensions are adjusted slightly to suite frame size

* Fork blades smoothly bent in the “French fashion”

* Vertical dropouts with single eyelets

* Set up for Paul Racer brakes on studs (Velo Orange offers these at cost with the purchase of a frame)

* Setup for side pull or regular center pull brakes is a no-cost option

* Tubes choice based on frame size and rider’s weight

* Silver brazed in the US

* Constructeur style slap guard

* Room for fenders and 32mm tires

* 1-degree top tube upslope

* Silver-gray paint, or one of three optional colors

* A custom front and and rear rack available

* Extra long Honjo fenders for this frame available.

* 700c wheel size (650b on smaller sizes)
