Bike Build Ideas
Let customers speak for us
from 4061 reviewsI put these on my 90s-era Stumpjumper which I rode for years as my commuter bike. Feels like an entirely different bike now way better for easy "slow" riding - in traffic, etc. They do bring the arms way way back so I could have settled for something in between the flat bars. And being steel, they are pretty heavy but that wasn't a concern for this ride.

Well made. Easy install. Good looking too.

While I have yet to purchase a frame (Soma Saga is my frame of choice), I have purchased all sorts of parts and bits over the years. Great selection of items for their niche, well curated and tested by the owners and staff, so I know I’m getting something functional that won’t leave me stranded. That they are based in my native Maryland is even better!
This is a great bottom bracket for anyone who is interested in turning a frame with vertical dropouts into a single speed without the use of a bolt on chain tensioner.
Installation was easy, the instructions were good and it even comes with a tool! Surprisingly I did not have any issues fitting old parts from my bin, I used an old XX1 24mm spindle crankset with my even older GT Zaskar LE frame.
There is a small amount of chain tension adjustment with this eccentric bottom bracket but it was enough to make it work. I knew this ahead of time and had to try a few different chain ring size/sprocket size combos before I found one that worked.
Thanks Velo Orange for making this unique product!

I did a dream build with which I was looking for versatility and classic style. The build is meant for year-round riding, much of it in the city. So I wanted flat bar for the stability on ice, as well as ease of looking for traffic with an upright posture. My hope was then that the horns would work to simulate hoods...
...and the hoods are WAY better than I thought they'd be. I put fatty grips on the bar ends, and supple tape on the horns. The horns feel just like drop-bar hoods, and instantly change the posture and bodily geometry. Suddenly I'm cooking at 16 mph and it feels like I"m on a gravel bike.
The backsweep is a LITTLE more swept than I'd hoped, but I quickly got used to it. I wondered if the horns would just be a gimmick but instead they're a brilliant tool to enhance your bike's versatility.
The silver is super stylish (the branding on the front is elegant) and matches very well with the VO Zeppelin fenders and silver rims I used for my wheels.
Highly recommend if you want to turn your flat-bar bike into a versatile machine.

The Grand Cru Brake levers are a beautiful addition on the VO granola bars. Awesome levers!

These are by far my favorite dirt drop bars, probably my favorite drop bars period. The handlebar geometry is comfortable no matter what I'm doing, and they're very sturdy. The fact that it comes in black and silver, two widths and only costs $60 is just icing on the cake.

Was doing an all-silver setup and wanted to use the 26.0mm bars I had on hand with a 31.8mm stem. Velo Orange shims to the rescue! They do just what they describe, easy install, they just work. Secure clamping, no slippage.

Does exactly what I needed it to do.

I'm so glad I put these fenders on my bike. They do a fantastic job keeping me and my drivetrain clean, and they look great. I got the black color and had my local bike shop install them on my Crust Bombora. My only regret is not getting fenders earlier.
