Quill road pedals are a staple of any classic road bike. They conjure the feeling of winding through narrow country roads while lightly clicking through gears. The aroma of freshly baked pies wafts through the air.

These pedals are of the same style as old Campagnolo pedals, but with sealed cartridge bearings and lightweight alloy construction. Use them in combination with toe clips and straps, and you'll have very good foot retention without the need for cleated cycling shoes.

  • 100mm x 60mm platform
  • Flip tab for ease of entry
  • Compatible with toe clips and half clips
  • Polished steel spindle
  • 267g for the pair

Sold in pairs.

Pedals that are a worthy replacement of the best quality vintage models

I have quite a number of vintage steel bikes. Some of them have the famed Campagnolo Strada vintage pedals, which are the gold standard in many ways of the vintage components. But what if you don't want to pay through the nose for a well worn set and then have to clean and repack the bearings (assuming you know how)? I now have on several of my bikes, the lovely Velo Orange Road pedals. They are smooth as silk, beautifully crafted, competitive in weight and all-around as pleasing to me as my vintage sets. Also just as easy to slip into with clips and straps (Velo Orange toe clips are also excellent byt the way). You can't go wrong.

High quality

These pedals are really nice and the bearings are very smooth. In my experience it seems like toe straps are a necessity, though. The pedals are one-sided and they don’t grip your shoe very well on their own. I’ve had mine flip over underneath my foot after hitting a bump in the road, causing my foot to slide off the front of the pedal.

quality pedals

I put these compact, solid, classic pedals (with toe clips/straps) on my mountain bike. No more clunky, ugly plastic. I feel in touch with the bike and road. Reminds me of my first road bike. I also switched to the VO handlebars. What a joy to ride.

comfy, sturdy pedals

I like a solid and textured feeling pedal beneath my feet, and these pedals fit the bill! Very fairly priced, excellently made and designed. Thank you! :)

for paved and gravel road bike performance

Not for MTB bikes, etc., but along with toe clips and straps these pedals are for power delivery on both the down push and the up lift without having weird cleats on the bottom of your shoes. On the up lift a foot then stays in the right place for the next down push, just what cycling is all about! So, want to know what your road bike can do?
