I intended to install on a Gitane Interclub. The milled seat on this bike's fork is very short and it won't engage the 26.4 ID of the crown race. The race has nearly half of the finished 26.4 diameter taken up by a ridiculously wide lead created by an embossing punch and die pressed manufacture.

Too tall a stack for my Gitane Tour de France

I HAVEN'T INSTALLED IT YET. I HAVE USED SEVERAL OF THESE AND THEY WORK WELL. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE STACK HEIGHT WAS A LITTLE TOO MUCH FOR A PEUGEOT UO-8, HAD TO TRIM AND REFACE THE HEAD TUBE TO GET THE HEADSET THREADS TO HOLD.

Works as claimed, a bargain but make sure the stack ht work with the fork length first.
Would be even better if it gets sealed bearings, but not a big deal.

Read some comments on line about this item being tall. They were correct. I did a steering tube replacement, and gave the replacement tube about 1 cm extra length, and am still only able to engage about 3 threads on the lock ring.
Otherwise, looks good, finish is great. Headset pressed on just fine, and is aligned properly, and installed fork rotates as desired (bearing surfaces are machined carefully.
If you need French, do buy this product, but measure first, and do a little math. Velo Orange does publish the dimensions.
