Like a well-used Leica rangefinder, there is something undeniably comforting and warm about brass that has aged, and a bike that wears patina with pride. The fine folks over at Blue Lug in Japan couldn't find good quality brass spacers, so they started making their own.

This tapered spacer fits the contours of our Grand Cru Threadless Headset (and probably others) perfectly, making the transition from the bearing cover smooth.

Height of 12mm. Outer diameter at the top of the spacer is ~31.6mm.

Do not match

If you're hoping, like I was, to use this with the silver headset spaces, don't waste your money. The brass, and the silver spacers VO carries are different thicknesses, with the metal of the silver being much thicker (i.e. greater external diameter).
Nothing wrong with the part itself... I'm sure it functions as otherwise intended.

Thanks for the feedback. We have updated the page to reflect the tapered outer diameter. We will be offering alloy headset spacers in June that have a narrower outer diameter to work with the tapered spacer better. Keep your eyes peeled for those.
