The Velo Orange Rear Disc Hub is specially designed for touring, randonneuring, and commuting in all weather conditions. The hub's high flanges allow room for large, sealed cartridge bearings so your hubs will be spinning happily for a long time.
The hub includes replaceable endcaps to convert from 135mm QR to 142mm Thru-axle. All without requiring any tools.
The freehub features a tool-free disassembly for maintenance or roadside driveside spoke replacement.

Very nicely finished product. I especially liked the switchable end caps that gave you the option of using through axles or quick release skewers.
I bought this hub for a recent wheel build. It pairs perfectly with my Son hub up front. It is a little bit louder in the click department than my other hubs but I like it. Top notch customer service is a big plus too.
I built a wheel with a conventional Velo Orange hub for a friend of mine, and was happy with the quality and finish.
When it came time to build my own, I went for the disc versions in Noir. Classic looks, modern function. I also liked that they came with thru axle and QR endcaps. The freehub sounds unique, but not obnoxious as some modern hubs can. If there was one negative - and this is nitpicking - I wish there was a 28h option. Always a pleasure. Looking forward to ordering some more VO today!
A very stout and heavy duty hub. Tall flanges help build a strong wheel. It has a high degree of engagement and screams as you coast which I personally like. The Noir black has to be the nicest black out there. The bearings spin smooth, fast, and long. The freehub and the internals are very nicely machined and put together. This hub handled some pretty high tension builds with no problems even though it is not recommended. It is a great all around hub that performs very well on road wheels for an affordable price. This hub will indeed go on future wheel builds. Hopefully a centerlock version will come out in the future as well.
If I told you that...
I think they are a brilliant design, incredibly versatile due to their modular design allowing for traditional QR or thru axle change-ups, and freehub removal for maintenance, replacement or drivetrain swaps, all without tools, and they look great in either noir or argent ;-) ...
then there may not be any left when I need more.
