Introducing the Polyvalent by Velo Orange—a true jack-of-all-trades frameset that's ready for anything! Whether you're dreaming of epic tours, smooth daily commutes, comfy all-day rides, or gnarly gravel adventures, the Polyvalent is your perfect companion.

The Polyvalent boasts impressive tire clearance. With fenders, it comfortably fits 650b x 48 or 26 x 2.3” smooth tires. If you skip the fenders, it’s ready to tackle 650b x 2.1” or 26 x 2.3” knobby tires.

The Polyvalent features star reinforcements on almost every braze-on, ensuring durability and strength. The rear brake routing is internal, with a brazed-in tube that makes installation a breeze—no more fishing for housing!

You'll find dedicated rack and fender mounts on the rear, perfect for all your cargo needs. The fork, with its elegant French-style bend, includes braze-ons for versatile mounting options. Whether you want to attach rando-style front racks, side-mounted cargo cages, or low-rider pannier racks, the Polyvalent has got you covered.

The seatstays gracefully wrap around the integrated seat collar, coming together almost to a point, adding a touch of elegance to its robust design.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a Velo Orange frame without the perfectly aligned fender mounts, ensuring flawless fender installation every time.

Get ready to ride in style and tackle any terrain with the Polyvalent!

Stunning, timeless design & well thought out

I've got my Polyvalent all built up except for brakes, so I've only ridden it around my yard, so far. I love the timeless and classic design with modern touches like disc brakes, thru-axles and a 1-1/8" threadless steer tube! The paint itself & the color are absolutely gorgeous! All of the welds are beautiful. Very well thought out design & geometry. I'm disabled from a work injury that destroyed my back, so I'm on disability & have very limited funds. I'd love to try some Growtac Equal brakes or some Paul Klampers, but I'll probably just end up settling for some Avid BB7's, TRP Spyke's or something I can afford. Can't wait to get it all finished up so I can go ride it more than just in my yard😉

one of the great ones, and as good as ever

Glad to see only a few functional updates have changed on the current V5 Polyvalent because VO really got everything right for this model. I really didn't need another bike when I ordered my sparkle black XL in late 2019 so I'm kind of surprised it has become one of my favourite to ride. It's one of those bikes that make you want to go for a ride just by glancing at it. It's a lively riding bike, never feels sluggish or dead, but it's also stable and composed and does everything well. This bike is happy doing fast miles on the road but just as happy and quick on gravel trails, and manages town-utility loads easily too. The segmented fork is a cool look with square shoulders, round blades, and a really lovely low curve. The rest of the bike is full of classy details too, the head tube reinforcing collars have nice details that match the brazed seat collar whose wrap-around brazed seatstay caps are elegant, classic, details you don't expect to see at this price. The whole frame/fork is well finished and built up smoothly. The metallic glacier colour is super, and I'm a bit jealous.

Partly old, partly new, get while available

This is version 5 of the Polyvalent having frameset geometry dating back several decades with short front fork trail geometry making it easier to haul loads over both front and rear wheels and providing quick handling. This frameset can be built with a wide variety of gear trains. It also has F&R fender and rack mounts and a variety of water bottle mounts. Yet beyond old school this frameset uses disc brakes and has the necessary thru-axles for them too. Go ahead, try to find another frameset like this one, partly old and partly new, but no, the commercial bicycle industry has turned away from framesets like this, so get one of these while they are available.

Love These

I have built two of these and I just bought a third frame.

Versatile, attractive and smooth riding.

Beautiful out of the Box

Frame and fork arrived sooner than expected (always a plus). Tore into the box like a kid on Christmas day. The attention to detail on the brazing, welds and finish is top notch. The frame is still wrapped up, on the hooks, until later this spring when I have time to complete the build. Then, it'll be road tested. Can hardly wait.
