Here's a vegan-friendly saddle designed for folks who keep their handlebars at or around saddle height. The idea was to make a lightweight saddle that feels something like suede and has a classic appearance thanks to a microfiber top.

At 154mm wide it's about the same width as a Brooks Swallow leather saddle. But this is somewhat deceptive because there are no rivets or a flaring leather "skirt." So the sitting area is comparable to a slightly wider leather model. At 280gr the weight is significantly less than that of a modern leather saddle. Length is 267mm.

The microfiber's texture keeps you from sliding around and it's weather resistant. The body is thermo-plastic with a layer of high density foam. The rails are chromoly.

A good simple saddle

I have this saddle on my daily commuter, which has sweptback bars and more upright geo, and which I'll take on mixed-terrain rides ranging from 2-25 miles. I've only used the saddle in that use case, but it's been great for it. The tackiness of the fabric is a bit excessive at first, at least in my opinion, but it does get less grippy with use and I appreciate the fabric's toughness and water resistance otherwise (it rains a lot where I'm at).

The main reason I give this four stars rather than five is I wish it had a middle cutout! I'm sure VO already considered this, and I'm sure it'd have some impact on manufacturing costs, but I would love this saddle even more if it had a cutout down the middle. Still a great saddle without, though.

Solid construction, feels good on my bum with decent ventilation. I love that the microfiber makes it so my pants don’t slip around on the saddle like it did on my brooks. For $24 can’t beat it!
