Took a pair of Silver bar end shifters and mounted them on a Tourist bar with these. Very solid, work just fine.

This is an excellent shifter holder I am very pleased with it, as I have discovered different placement on the bars, very happy with the functional shifting that it achieves for me.

I have used thumb shifters on other bikes. They worked well enough to put them on oak old Raleigh Carllton Grand Sport. The problem is this GS does not have a derailleur hanger, it came with a long cage plastic Simplex. I am searching for a der that has an old fashioned bolt on hanger. Since I have a VO triple crank (low 27) i need a loooong cage to accommodate the chain wrap. The hangers, by the way, are not universal. When I find that der i will give you a real review. The fun of doing resto-mods is that they are so frustrating.

Installed these with Rivendell Silver 1 levers on an SR Alpine Sport, they push a 9s XT derailer.

Used these on a swept-back handlebar setup with some old suntour down tube shifters. Shifts like a dream.
