Chessie Build List - Evergreen Gravel Racer
From Ben @evergreen_gravel_racing:
This bike, for me, fits squarely in the middle on a venn diagram with my other 2 bikes. On the left is my VO Piolet, built for backcountry rough riding, bikepacking, and slower meandering days in the woods. On the right is my trusty custom randonneur, built for long and steady days and nights in the saddle, riding on mainly paved roads with the occasional dirt mixed in. In the middle falls the Chessie, built to be fast, nimble, and light while capable enough to handle gravel roads, double track, and the occasional trail, as well as all the paved sections in between. Built mainly from used parts swapped over from my Pass Hunter or from friends, this build came together quickly and precisely to be the sort of bike that is perfect for the North West and our widely varied terrain. Moderately wide and supple tires, a 1x wide-range drivetrain, a lightweight build, and reliable lighting to guide you home after dark is an incredibly tasty build recipe for the Chessie.
