Neutrino Mini-Velo FAQs
Here are some FAQs regarding the specifications and design nuances associated with the Neutrino Mini-Velo:
- Q: Can I run a double crankset?
- A: You should be able to, but you will need either a special mini-velo front derailleur or a special front derailleur adaptor for braze-on style front derailleurs. We suggest running a 1x system for simplicity.
- Q: What is the max chainring size you can run?
- A: That really depends on the crank position relative to the bottom bracket and chain. A chainring size around the 44t range paired with a 11-28 cassette for the vast majority of applications.
- Q: Can I run a rear rack?
- A: Yes, but expect some heel clearance issues with panniers since this bike has short chainstays. We suggest rackless rear bags in general for the Neutrino.
- Q: Can I run a lowrider front rack?
- A: No, your panniers will drag on the ground during turns. Remember these are 20" wheels.
- Q: What randonneur style front rack can I run?
- A: The VO Randonneur Rack is a great selection. Other similar styles should work, but check with the rack's manufacturer to be sure.
- Q: Do you offer the fork separately?
- A: No, we do not offer the fork separate of the frameset.
- Q: What size rotors can I run?
- A: We suggest 160mm rotors.
- Q: Is the frameset compatible with hydraulic brakes?
- A: Yes, the Neutrino is hydraulic disc brake compatible.
- Q: Is the frame belt-drive compatible?
- A: No. As there is no break in the rear triangle for a belt to pass through, the frame is not belt-drive compatible.
- Q: Can I run dropper posts?
- A: Yes, you can run externally routed dropper posts.
