Finding a high-flange freewheel hub that is both high quality and affordable isn't easy to do these days, and it's even harder to find one in 126mm spacing for older frames. The Velo Orange Freewheel Hub fills that gap perfectly. The hubshell is cold forged and CNC'd, while the high polish clear anodized finish will hold up to even the worst weather. The bearings are sealed cartridge, so they'll be happily spinning for years to come without requiring maintenance.

The quick release is included and the hub accepts standard English thread freewheels. Suitable for most 5, 6, and 7 speed freewheels.

Great Freehub for older bikes

I wanted to convert an older bike to 650b and extend the gearing. So I built a new wheel using this hub and added a 7-speed freewheel. I’m happy with the result and am happy Velo Orange offers this and other hard-to-find products.

Great Hubs!

I have purchased these freewheel hubs before. They are beautifully finished and having sealed bearings is nice. One thing I wonder about is the rear hubs come with a quick release skewer but the front ones don’t so you end up with an extra skewer when you buy the pair to get the one for the front. I alter the axle spacers to fit my old classic steel frames with 120mm spaced dropouts.

Just what my 126mm bikes needed!

I have two of these beauties (and two of the matching VO 100mm front hubs) on bikes which originally had 5-speed freewheels but now have 6-speed Megarange freewheels, triple cranksets, high capacity derailleurs, downtube shifters and they run on 8-speed chain. Beware, this can happen when updating old bikes.
