I installed one of these last night--a surprisingly painless process--on my 1x9 Rando. It's pretty, and it keeps the chain and my pants separate. For what more can I ask? It's not as pretty or as French as some of the chainguards from years past, but it certainly does the job.
(PS: This was also a nice time to take a peek at the UN52 bottom bracket and the BB shell interior, unchecked for quite a few years. In spite of years of riding in all weather, everything looks good.)
The manufacturer of my new bike offers this chainguard as an upgrade to the standard kit, but they were sold out when I placed my order, and I didn't want to stall the bike for the sake of one part. So instead, I ordered directly from V.O. Really glad I did! This thing looks beautiful on the bike and the craftsmanship is fantastic.
The chain guard was simple to install. And matched my fenders perfectly only wish the velo orange name was painted orange so it would stand out but overall very happy
I really like this chainguard, but I had to buy tools to install it.
