Let's Build a Rando Bike - Part 1

by Igor Shteynbuk

Last week, I posted a poll on our Instagram requesting input from you, our dear audience, into what kind of bike build you'd like to see us film. Well, 35% of you said we should do a Pass Hunter Rando bike! Polyvalent Touring bike came second with 25%, if you're curious.

The purpose of this video series is to go through every part of the build process - installing components, accessories, and giving technical instructions along the way. There are lots of people out there that may never have built a bike from the frame up. It can definitely be intimidating to take on a project for the first time when there are so many nuances and passed-down knowledge. It's hard to find a starting point. So we hope that this series will help you or a friend build up a bike for the first time or maybe get a few tips and tricks to do some at-home repairs.

As for as this particular build, we love doing rando-style bikes. They're a bit more intricate and selective with component choice because it's a balance of comfort, durability, and performance as opposed to other bikes where certain aspects are a bit more biased in specific categories like pure comfort, speed, or utility.

Let us know how you liked the video! It will be very helpful in further developing videos we'd like to do in the future.

Thanks and Happy Riding!
