Porteur Racks Get An Upgrade

The Velo Orange Porteur Rack has always been a fan favorite, blending classic aesthetics with real-world utility. Inspired by the hardworking newspaper delivery bikes of Paris, it was designed from day one to be more than just a pretty accessory. We've always been proud of its stainless steel construction and thoughtful details. But we're cyclists, just like you, and we're always looking for ways to make great gear even better. Today, we're thrilled to announce a major upgrade: dedicated side-of-fork mounting hardware is now included with every VO Porteur Rack.

By utilizing the mid-fork braze-ons (or "side eyelets") now common on many touring and gravel bikes, this new four-point mounting system creates an incredibly stable platform.
The added support struts dramatically increase stability and rigidity, officially rating the rack for a hefty 50-pound (22.6kg) load. That's enough for a serious grocery run, a case of your favorite beverage, camping gear for a weekend getaway, or your bulkiest work bag—all without a hint of wobble. It turns the Porteur from a versatile carrier into a serious, weight-hauling machine.

This upgrade reinforces our original vision for the Porteur Rack: to be a beautiful, real-world piece of equipment that encourages you to do more with your bike. It’s for the daily commuter, the weekend adventurer, and anyone who values gear that is as strong as it is stylish.
The new hardware is included with all Porteur Racks going forward. We're also going to still include the original tang that mounts to the fork crown in case you don't need the full weight capacity. It’s a small change that makes a world of difference. Load it up and ride on.

In the most recent shipment, we did have a small run does not have the side mounts, so if you don't need the full weight capacity, save some coin and go with the previous design.
That is nice, but why do you make picture with a rack that is so much above the fender.
Ideally, the rack should be aligned with the fender (5cm lower).
