These lovely brass bells have been made in the same small factory for many decades. They have hammer-type strikers, a beautiful tone, and great resonance.

Compared to our Temple brass bells, the Striker bells are a little louder and a few millimeters wider. Unfortunately, they will not work with our Retro bell mount or Spacer bell mount.

Features a chrome clamp for handlebars.

Loud Bell

I bought this Brass Striker Bell from Velo because my prior purchase, a brass Knog Luxe Bell bought (based on appearance) from Blue Lug, was not loud enough to provide any protection at all on the bicycle trails. I bought the Velo Brass Striker Bell because reviewers said it was loud. I couple said maybe too loud. My partner's bicycle has a Spurcycle bell which is renowned for its volume and clarity. The Velo bell is at least equal in volume to the Spurcycle bell. The Velo bell is much easier to mount on the (one-inch!) handlebar than was the (almost-universally-attachable) Spurcycle.bell. Total cost of the Velo bell including shipping (without other items) was $20, and it promptly arrived.

Brass Bell install and use

This brass bell works well. As there is only metal components it's likely to last longer than bells with plastic parts. Satisfying ring gets attention on multiuser paths. The fasteners are the week point I had to ream out the bolt holes to accept hex bolts as those provided were not long enough for handle bar mounting. They should be sold that way. VO take note please.

Brass Striker Bell

These are primarily gifts, and I have not installed my own yet, BUT I have tested the ringer and held it…it is a solid brass bell with a good loud ring tone, and I purchased them for “older” young children who ride together as a family. I think they will be an asset on city streets.

Perfect!

What a great bell. It’s so shiny. And, loud! My only minor hesitation from recommending it is that it may be a little *too* loud. But people will definitely hear you coming.
