Very forgiving rims, no hassle tubeless, and very pretty

I laced up a set of the 700s up to an old 105 hub and a new Shimano dynamo hub with DT Spokes and brass nipples. These were a delight to build; very forgiving rim and plenty responsive to spoke wrench input. They almost had a malleable and soft quality to them that answered to anything you asked of 'em during the build. The tubeless setup was completely hassle free which was a deviation from the norm I have experienced with low volume high and highish pressure tubeless tires. A set of used 38mm tubeless tires snapped right onto the rim after installing tubeless tape and a nibble of sealant. Tire profile looks pretty good too. The generous amount of rim brake surface is also of great benefit for all the tom foolery I find myself up to with my builds. The additional rim brake surface(relative to some other rims I've used) is nice for adjusting brake pads and getting additional braking performance from said adjustment. This is something I may be particular given that it has helped with improving the conversion on my '83 Trek from its intended 27" wheels to 700c. It's been over 6 months since the build with frequent use and they are true and holding tubeless even after some light duty single track that I often incorporate into my commute. Full marks!

Durable and nice looking

I built a set of wheels with these for my commuter bike. I used a Son 28 Dynamo for the front hub and a VO 11sp cassette rear hub. I absolutely love the look of the boxed profile with the steel eyelets and despite riding them daily through all kinds of weather the polish has remained on them. They've also remained true and stop well with standard pads in both rain and dry.

VO rates them for use with 38mm and up tires, but I've been running them tubeless with both 32mm GP5000's and 32mm Conti Spike 120. I've had no issue with either of these tires being ran tubeless on these rims. As an example of fit, I rode a flatted rear GP5000 for 2 mi to get to a parking lot and the tire's bead never detached or rolled off the wheel's hook system.

These are a solid buy for both appearance, fit and most importantly function.

Rim wall

The rim wall is a little tall, I assume for tubeless install, but it makes it hard to get the tire on. Very sturdy rim that was easy to build.

Nice rims

I used this 650b rim with VO disc front hub to build a wheel. Used DT spokes and brass nipples that made a good looking quality wheel that was easy to true. Installed 650b Panaracer Pasela Protite 42mm wide tire with GREAT difficulty. I have NEVER had this much trouble getting a bike tire on. The same on my new VO rear wheel. I have installed probably a couple hundred tires (all sizes) in the last 38 years as a serious recreational cyclist and again NEVER had one this tight. This brand of tire is a favorite and I have used many road and mountain types with no problem. Probably just tight tires—I’ll find out if I get a flat. Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem. Next tires for these wheels will be another brand !
