The Cigne Stem gets its name from the French word for swan. The shape is inspired by the old gooseneck LD stems by Ibis and Cunningham, but with a few accommodations for modern bike needs. 1 1/8" threadless and 31.8mm handlebar clamp with a removable faceplate. With 145mm of vertical height from the base of the stem to the center of the clamp, it's pretty useful for getting your handlebars up high without using a ton of spacers. Available in High Polish, Nickel, and Noir.
- Handlebar Clamp: 31.8mm
- Steerer Clamp: 1-1/8"
- Height: 145mm (base to center of clamp)
- Weight: 343g (90mm size)
The Cigne functions as both your stem and top cap. Your star-nut should be approximately 1cm from the top of your steerer tube and you need at least 55mm of tube (metal only, not for use with carbon steerers). Now slide your stem on the steerer, slip in the long bolt with the washer, pretension with the long bolt, and clamp it down at the base. Use grease as needed.
Note: Not for use with Quill Stem Adaptors.

I love the Cigne stem. First of all, I wanted a more upright ride and the Cigne saved me from getting an ugly tube extender off of Amazon. Secondly, I already owned the wavy fenders and even though I loved them, I felt like they were a little discordant with my sporty modern bike. Not anymore. The sweep of the Cigne gives my bike a cool, old school, kinda Parisian look. It complements the fenders perfectly.
Comfy upright ride. Looks killer. Thank you Velo Orange!!
I absolut love the odd shape Cigne Stem, it is a great edition to my bike. But after just 1 month on my bike the screws and the laser engraved Logo startet rusting. Three month in the color loses its shine and starts to turn into a more anthracite color which is a bit odd because the handle bars also from Velo Orange don't. I have to say I life in the north of Germany wich is renown for its notoriously bad weather but for a $85 Dollar part I would like to see stainless screws and a coating that is more resilient to watering.
I had my eye on this stem for a couple years. Finally bought it and decided to mix up the black on black with the chrome stem. Absolutely love it. So lush.
