Just got a Stargazer and my Woodchippers perfectly bang the hell out of my top tube. These will help in the event someone is careless around my bike

Velox changed their design or maybe started to offshore their production. These are not as nice as the old style. For some reason the nut and star washer just spins endlessly when I try to tighten them. Sad that an old, loved classic that worked flawlessly has been changed.
Sorry they didn't work for you. They are still made in France. One trick is to get just a little bit of tension on the screw, then insert in the bar end, and then tighten it all up.

These fit into my Salsa Woodchipper, bar end ID ~21.5mm. Didn’t need to tighten too much. I just like the hard rubber since I’m leaning against hard surfaces like my stucco wall but also protects other more delicate surfaces.
