Gary's Kogswell City Bike

Hey VO team!

I had a great trip to Amsterdam a few years ago. When I got there my friend had a city bike lined up for me and I spent a week cruising the city on it. When I got home I knew I needed a nice around town city bike and started shopping. Unfortunately I could not find a bike that checked all the boxes for me and realized a custom build was in order. This bike checks all the boxes for me. It has so inspired me that I now have a garage full of vintage steel bikes that I rebuild and sell or give away. I love it!

The Build:
1. Kogswell model G frame with new powder coat. Track drop outs made this a great option for the IGH. Coldset rear opening.
2. Shimano Alfine 8 hub rear, Ultegra front hub on Velocity Twin Hollow 650b rims
3. Panaracer Col De La Vie tires (but when the fenders come off I ride 42mm Grand Bois Hetre tires)
4. Dia Compe long reach center pull brakes
5. Tektro Fl-750 brake levers
6. Sugino Cranks
7. MKS pedals & Clips
8. Stem & Seatpost brand unmarked
9. Brooks saddle
10. Cork grips
11. Blackburn rack
12. Surly Cable Hanger

VO Bits:
1. VO Left Bank handlebars
2. VO 650b Zeppelin Fenders
3. VO Metallic Braid brake & shift cables

I can’t remember what, but some of the components came from VO too (levers, grips, tires, cable hanger)
