Grand Cru 110 Fluted Triple Crankset
A triple is a must for many cycle-tourists and randonneurs. Here is a durable and stylish triple crankset ready to take on any hills.
Cold forged from 7075 aluminum alloy. The rings are thicker so they don't flex as on classic cranks. The outer rings have modern shifting aids such as ramps and pins, so shifting performance is much improved. All stainless hardware with allen head nuts/bolts. Includes aluminum machined dust caps and BB bolts. Dust caps function as self extracting crank hardware.
- Teeth: 48/34/24
- BCD: 110 mm, 74 mm
- Q Factor: 160mm
- Speeds: 6-10 compatible
- Taper: JIS square taper
- BB Size: 124mm for most bikes
- Pedal Threading: 9/16"
I purchased this crankset for a Cross Check frameset that I built up. I've put it through hell and back and it hasn't let me down yet. The majority of my riding has been in either in East Tennessee or Western North Carolina so for me personally a granny gear was neccessary. Plan on purchasing another for a different bicycle eventually.
The triple crank looks great but not built into the yet not received frame
I have had a beautiful handbuilt Oswald Backroads Bomber since 2007. All hand carved lugs - pretty! Tom Oswald showed it at a couple of NAHBS shows and outfitted it with a Ultegra groupset. As I got older, the 52/39/30 crank was more than I could push. VO's triple with smaller rings fit the bill for my legs and looked proper (to my eye) - like eye candy! I'm happy! The Q-Factor stayed the same as the original crankset.
Not only handsome this triple offers the best range for dirt road adventures in the rolling hills and mountains of Vermont.
I bought this crankset because it had the gearing and the 165mm crank length I was looking for. In person it is a great looking triple crank! No problems with the installation and the shifting is excellent. I'd recommend this for cyclists needing gearing for climbing or touring.
