I purchased these for a rigid touring MTB. Initially, I really liked these bars for shorter mixed-surface riding. I found them comfortable and liked having the various hand positions.
However, this summer I went on a longer bikepacking trip on rough roads (GDMBR). On this longer trip, these bars contributed to severe nerve problems in my hands. The main riding position put my wrists at a slightly harsh angle, which over the course of a month of riding added up to a serious injury for me.
Other users have reported these bars being extremely comfortable and solving problems with the back/neck. This is all true, but for me the bars caused wrist/hand problems. Hopefully this problem is unique to me, but I wanted to warn other riders with hand problems.
These are just what I needed to get a better upright position on my mountain bike. I really like the slight sweep back on my wrists. I actually feel faster on the trails with these bars!
I added the Crazy Bars to my touring bike (1992 Giant Yukon) to replace the flat mountain bike bars, and I like the diversity of hand positions. The extra width affords me greater leverage and the nubs mimic Buckhorn bars. I also use the position inward of the nubs on occasion. The only negative
is that the extra width makes storage and transporting in my vehicle a bit awkward.
I put the first set on my mtb that I use as a winter commuter.
The second set I purchased for my touring bike. I have problems with my neck and the Crazy-bars-2 put me in a much better position than the drop bars. Yet still giving me an area position when I need it.
I would make the purchase again and quite happy with the Crazy-bars-2
