I'm a traditionalist. Usually only cork, leather or cloth tape for me. After wrapping a VO Nouveau Randonneur bar with "micro-tex" last fall I decided to try VO's Diamond tape on one of my bikes.

Plenty of length for a Nitto Noodle bar (44cm at the hoods). Wrapping the sticky part directly on the bar as I have always done with cork tape, I had left-over material. Easy to stretch and lay flat. Bonus points for the supplied "finishing tape". Have always discarded the material that is usually supplied. Not this time. Would be worth buying a roll of this stuff for other uses. The plugs are also very nice but didn't use them because of the bar-ends on this bike.

First ride yesterday. 20 miles of smiles! The texture and cushioning are superb.

Nice thickness and texture. Reminds me of metal knurling. I've only gone on a handful of short rides so far, but it's been good. Came with enough to cut a piece for each of the hoods & comfortably wrap the rest of my 44cm Ritchey VentureMax bars.

Need to ride it more, only one ride since wrapping the bars. I cut 3-4 inches to attach to the back of the brake levers, 1 strip from each role. The remaining length of tape is barely long enough to reach the ends of 42 cm normal bars. I do like the enclosed end plugs.

I haven't had a bar tape that's held up as well as this. I've crashed and scraped the handlebars, with no visible wear on the tape. And the 'yoga mat' like texture is good, without being overly tacky like lizardskins. Good for commuting, touring, and bikepacking because of the texture and durability.
