The VO Crazy Bars are intended for touring on paved and unpaved roads, single and double track, gravel and crushed limestone, and everything in between.

The main, swept back section provides excellent control and leverage on rough and tumble surfaces, while the the bullhorn section offers an aero position for smoother roads and headwinds. The junction of the horns and sweeps feels similar to being on the hoods of drop bars and makes for a nice, neutral position.

The main bar uses a 22.2mm grip area so MTB grips, levers, and shifters fit. The "horns" are 23.8mm, so road components like bar ends and inverse levers are compatible. The stem clamp area is 31.8mm.

Crazy Bars are made from 6061 aluminum and are heat treated. Weight is a reasonable 532g. They are MTB-rated and available in sand-blasted Silver and Noir.

They are definitely crazy

As an aging bike delivery guy these give me more option's for holding and keep my back alive. For now.

Here is a picture of my wrapped Velo Orange crazy bars. Leave the grips where they are designed to be. Instead use bar tape and wrap the horns. Refer to my post from 10/15/2024.
Start at the ends of the horns, then warp towards the grips and back to the middle using the figure 8 technique from road bars. Use the picture as a guide and note the spirals to prevent unwrapping the tape.

Makes flat bar bikes oh so comfortable

I have never been comfortable on mountain bikes and now I realize it was the traditional flat bars that ruined my adventures. Enter the redesigned Crazy Bars. I am a roadie, or perhaps I can now say was a roadie. Why? The comfort level of these bars trumps drop bars. The horn spacing, sweep of 35 degrees and width are 100% perfect! (side note: I’ll always be a roadie)The new generation mountain and flat bar bike geometry, along with the crazy bars has created the most comfortable riding experience ever. I thought I would have to cut the bars down, but after riding them, the width is perfect. With some practice I nailed doing the 3 way bar tape wrap, starting at the ends of the horns, then warping towards the grips and back to the middle using the figure 8 technique from road bars. I am considering buying a second bar and converting my gravel bike, which is currently a drop bar bike. I would like to see this bar available without the 20mm rise, as on my Trek Procaliber, the bars are slammed even with a 60mm 6 degree negative stem the bars are a little high. BTW the ride is so comfortable, I am willing to accept it as is. Climbing with hands on the horns is super stable. Thanks to Velo Orange for creating the crazy Bars.

perfect for fixed gear cyclists!!!

I love these bars!! Chicago fixed gear cyclists here and i upgraded to these from traditional wide bars when i was looking for alternative bullhorn bars and found these gems. I find the uber wide hand position perfect for a red light trackstand or a quick u turn ( any move that requires an effort in balance precision really). I also love the bullhorns! Although I wish they were a little on the narrower side I find myself on the bullhorns the majority of my time riding. besides this there are a couple other hand position options if these ever get old. I'm never gonna need another pair of handlebars!

Crazy Bars 👍

Hey, I have a set and they have been great for lots of miles ( inc RAGBRAI etc.). Would ask it VO could maybe also offer same bars with maybe 1/2 the sweep ( 17 degrees..) then they would be “Perfectly Crazy Bars”. BTW the reversed grips on the horns are great, hands don’t slide and is a nice resting grip.
