Awesome finish and quality. Increases the brake power immensely due to it's high level of stiffness. It's the stiffest mid reach (They call it long reach, which it isn't!!) caliper on the market unless you go custom... Totally ove it and a huge improvement to my previous Shimano.

Brakes, tires, and helmet. Gotta go high end on the safety stuff. The Grand Cru are the best way to upgrade this MOST important part on your vintage bike and it’ll still look vintage!

Got these becasue I purchased a silver campagnolo centaur groupset and the reach of brakes were about 2-5mm too short. Not wanting to stray from the silver component styings I got these. Not disapointed. I did 150+/- miles last weekend for a charity ms ride. The last day I got drenched in thunderous rain and these brakes handled the wet conditions like a champ. I'm very impressed.

These brake calipers look so good on my bike, but most importantly they work very well. I replaced my Sram red brake calipers for these.

I find the pernicious trend towards disc brakes on road bikes unsightly. I recognize the utility of being able to swap wheelsets for different applications, but as I love bikes I'd rather just buy a disc-specific model if I thought I needed one, and frankly, I don't. I purchased a Condor Fratello to replace an Ibis Silk Road carbon as I never really took to the carbon ride. I neglected to observe that the Fratello needed long reach brakes, and my local shop who built up the frame applied Tektro calipers, which worked, but looked really weird, and I was sad I couldn't use the Campy Chorus models I had hoped to. I sprung for the Grand Cru's, and I couldn't be more satisfied. They fit perfectly, look great, and perform flawlessly. If you need long reach calipers, look no further than Velo Orange!
