These fender mud flaps are cut from 1/16" thick Polyurethane Rubber and have very high durability and resistance against road grime, oils, and water.

The Short version is great for front fenders to protect your feet and drivetrain from water splashing up.

The Long version is often known as a "buddy" flap and are used to keep road grime and water off the faces of riders behind you - a necessity during group rides and brevets.

  • Weight (w/ hardware): 33g (short) and 49g (long)
  • Size: Width at the bottom is 115mm and length is 165mm (short) and 245mm (long)
  • Recommended for 45mm fenders and up. Fits on the inside of our 58mm Fenders perfectly.
  • Includes mounting hardware

Price is per flap.

Made in house in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Note: During installation, just snug up the bolts and nuts. Over-tightening might tear the rubber. You don't need to torque them down significantly - they'll stay put.

Icing on the fender cake. Without it, it's just not as delicious.
Install Tip: Use extra special handmade copper washers bent to the unique curvature of your fenders to apply even and widely distributed clamping force on your flapper.

Perfect so far for Seattle

I live in Seattle and after my first ride in the rain, the stock fenders on my bike kept most of my downtube protected but the area around my bottom bracket was covered in debris. I really wanted some extra coverage on my front fender to protect my feet and drivetrain and was looking at Velo Orange fenders because they extend further down than standard fenders, but decided to try the mutflap first and I'm so glad that I did. I was a bit worried that this wouldn't long enough since I don't have the extra long Velo Orange fenders, but this has fully protected my bottom bracket area and the width at the top is perfect to mesh with my 45mm fenders. I was a bit worried that it wouldn't fit my fenders well since the mounting holes are reported to be 44mm from each other, but since it has to follow the contour of the fender while the fender width is measured straight across, there was plenty of fender left on either side of the mounting holes and for larger fenders you can just move the fender up so that it matches the width of the fender where the fender ends. The mounting hardware feels really secure and the rubber is also thick enough to the point where I have no durability concerns. It's also stiff enough so that water and debris doesn't make it flop around while also being soft enough that I'm not worried about it getting ripped off if it gets caught on anything (although I think it's short enough for that not to be a concern anyways)

Overall, super happy with this purchase and would happily recommend it and buy it for any other bikes that need a mudflap. Only thing that I would change about this is that the rubber has a slight glossy finish, which makes it seem a bit cheap at first glance and makes it a bit ugly in my opinion, but aesthetics is very close to the bottom of my priority list when it comes to a mudguard and it's not really noticeable once it's actually on the bike.

Rainy days

These rubber mud flaps will do. They are not a thick or quite as long as anticipated. They seem durable enough. I really wanted the leather mud flaps but apparently they don’t sell them anymore.

Works great in both wet and dusty dry weather

These rubber flaps make full coverage fenders even fuller coverage. The front fender flap really helps to keep a bike's gear train clean and grit free which significantly reduces cleaning and maintenance efforts.
