Great comfort and surprisingly effective offroad

I bought these to replace dirt drop bars I was running on a 90's mountain bike. The dirt drop bars I wasn't into that much: Any extra advantage on roads/easy trails seemed to immediately end the moment terrain got technical. Thought I'd give these a go rather than a traditional riser bar, and they are awesome! Hand position makes the bars very comfortable. They are just wide enough to feel stable on more technical terrain. Upright position is great. Usual excellent VO quality.

Comfort!

I very much like these handlebars, using them with 10 speed brifters. They make for a lot of hand positions and easy access to shifting and brakes with little movement. I have chronic spine and shoulder issues that affect my hands, and a badly arthritic left thumb. Switching from compact drop bars to Velo-Orange Porteur bars, now on two bikes, has given me much relief with numbing/tingling hands, and pretty much eliminated my left thumb from the equation.
These bars are nice looking with a good finish, can be used with traditional 15mm drop, or 15mm rise, I prefer the latter. Two different diameters allows for variation in set ups. I am actually on V-O website to acquire another Porteur bar, presently on sale.

Love, Love, Love the Porteur Bars. Riding is so much fun again. I would never ride in my drops so these bars actually give me more riding positions. So much fun.

Great replacement for drop bars

Just converted the drop bars on my touring bike to the Velo Orange Porteur bars. Re-used my brake levers and bar end shifters. I wanted a more upright riding position to suit my aging body. This was a great fit for me.
Ordered online and delivered quickly. Had the conversion done at my local bike shop that didn't stock Velo Orange bars.
