This is a stainless steel front rack that is perfect for a handlebar bag, tied-down dry bag, or basket.

All Velo Orange racks are made from polished tubular stainless steel, so they will never rust, flake, and can be re-polished to a mirror shine even after years of use. As with our other racks, there are light mounts on the side of the platform. The platform is 20.7 cm long and 10.2 cm wide. The tombstone (backstop) is 9.5 cm tall. The rack weighs 318 gr.

If you plan on getting into offroad exploration, we suggest using a toe strap on the bottom of your bag to ensure it says put over the rough stuff.

If you are getting a custom frame made, we suggest sending the rack to the builder beforehand.

12lbs (5.4kg) max weight capacity.

All mounting hardware is included. Installation instructions found here.

This rack requires the use of cantilever brake bosses. Works best with canti posts that are between 75 and 80 mm wide. Use our Randonneur Front Rack if you don't have cantilever brakes.

Please note: mounting our rack to Paul Component brakes requires the use of Paul's special rack bolts and spacers.

Extremely premium, durable rack but beware

This rack is incredibly rigid and solid, with good hardware to support itm However, you may have to bend the very inflexible struts in on older forks which can put a lot of stress on the canti bolts, which in turn can cause them to snap off inside the braze-on if you overtighten them. One lesson learned, one screw extractor and a warranty-d bolt later, the rack has become an irreplaceable fixture on my commuter, supporting a rando bag and a Wald 137 interchangeably and with ease.

Remember to keep your canti bolts no more than wrist tight and you'll be set!

Up Front Rack

The Randonneur Front Rack has been quite useful, most of which is carrying 'Pizza-Pizza' home atop the basket carrying stuff that used to be carried on my back. Well worth it :)

Best option for 90’s MTB conversion

There are really no other options out there that compete. There is the “sun lite” brand that is inexpensive, but the light alloy always made me nervous when I had my basket loaded. There are other stainless options that are much more expensive and not any better.
