Constructeur Front Rack

$98.00

The Constructeur Front Rack is a medium sized front rack that attaches to your fork's dropout eyelets. It's simple design is perfect for a handlebar bag, tied-down dry bag, or basket.

All Velo Orange racks are made from polished tubular stainless steel, so they will never rust or flake, and can be re-polished to a mirror shine even after years of use. As with our other racks, there are light mounts on the side of the platform. The height of the rack from the lowest hole on the tang to the bottom of the platform is 37cm. The platform is 20cm long and 10cm wide. The tombstone (backstop) is 9.5cm tall.

There are three holes in the lower tang so that it can be cut to give your bike a real Constructeur-style. Find installation instructions here.

15lbs (6.8kg) maximum weight capacity.

Please note: This rack does not fit suspension forks.

Middle porridge

The constructeur rack was just right for me. After literally years of trying get a TA rack to support a light, a bigger rack “randomizes” style rack to fit the braze ons, or the cantilever studs, this rack just fit. I adjusted to the proper height for my 650B fork, marked the part of the tang to cut off, got out the Dremel, bolted it on, ran the included long rack strut underneath by Mafac Raid brake and then bent it into position et voila! At the dropout I make stud by running a bolt through from the inside of the fork, backing a flanged nut on facing out, then installing the rack, then putting the outside flanged nut on for safe keeping. That way you don’t have to wrestle with getting a swinging rack, a bolt and a wrench to all line up with the fork eyelet at the same time.

Great looking and easy to install

This rack went on with no fuss at all. Super easy to trim support stays to size (with a Dremel and a stack of cutoff disks - ate up about 2 per side) and looks fantastic on the bike. My wife is pleased with the look, and that is as good as gold in my book!
