Randonneur Front Rack, Cantilever
This is a stainless steel front rack that is perfect for a handlebar bag, tied-down dry bag, or basket.
All Velo Orange racks are made from polished tubular stainless steel, so they will never rust, flake, and can be re-polished to a mirror shine even after years of use. As with our other racks, there are light mounts on the side of the platform. The platform is 20.7 cm long and 10.2 cm wide. The tombstone (backstop) is 9.5 cm tall.
If you plan on getting into offroad exploration, we suggest using a toe strap on the bottom of your bag to ensure it says put over the rough stuff.
If you are getting a custom frame made, we suggest sending the rack to the builder beforehand.
12lbs (5.4kg) max weight capacity.
All mounting hardware is included. Installation instructions found here.
This rack requires the use of cantilever brake bosses. Use our Randonneur Front Rack if you don't have cantilever brakes.
Please note: mounting our rack to Paul Component brakes requires the use of Paul's special rack bolts and spacers.
The adjustable top mount is hinky. The welded, fixed version was better.
Light, goodlooking, works perfectly as a classy yet sturdy support for a wire basket too.
i’ve mounted it, and it looks rad. haven’t used it properly yet. BUT, i sure do wish it had a front light mount somewhere on the underside. i’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out a nice, clean solution, but so far they all look like i spend way too much time at the hardware store.
Easy to instill. Looks good. Holds a reasonable amount of weight.
I wish the platform sat a little lower and closer to the tire, but I assume it would if run on a 650b bike. I also wish there existed a threaded bit to run a fork crown mount for a dynamo light in the middle front of the rack.
Either way a very nice rack. Good value for money. It hits nearly all my boxes for 1/3 the money of a custom rack.
This is a well built and sturdy rack. The stainless steel is top-notch. It complements my touring bike nicely.
