This is a stainless steel front rack that is perfect for a handlebar bag, tied-down dry bag, or basket.

All Velo Orange racks are made from polished tubular stainless steel, so they will never rust, flake, and can be re-polished to a mirror shine even after years of use. As with our other racks, there are light mounts on the side of the platform. The platform is 20.7 cm long and 10.2 cm wide. The tombstone (backstop) is 9.5 cm tall. The rack weighs 318 gr.

If you plan on getting into offroad exploration, we suggest using a toe strap on the bottom of your bag to ensure it says put over the rough stuff.

If you are getting a custom frame made, we suggest sending the rack to the builder beforehand.

12lbs (5.4kg) max weight capacity.

All mounting hardware is included. Installation instructions found here.

This rack requires the use of cantilever brake bosses. Works best with canti posts that are between 75 and 80 mm wide. Use our Randonneur Front Rack if you don't have cantilever brakes.

Please note: mounting our rack to Paul Component brakes requires the use of Paul's special rack bolts and spacers.

Nice rack for the price

there are no racks of this quality at this price. There are some that are more adaptable (adjustable struts) or lighter, but they cost more. One thing I didn't realize was the canti brake rack mounting bolts were included with the rack. I ordered a pair thinking I needed them. My project was to mount this on an old 94 Bridgestone RB-T. The brake mounting studs were closer than the tabs on the ends of the rack struts. The struts were easily bent by hand to conform to the spacing and the rack installation went well and quick and is easy to align and level or tilt back a bit.

This rack is well designed and well built. It bolted right up to my old Trek XO1 fork and the frame lines up perfectly for ziptieing a Wald 137 basket. The level of the finish quality, ease of installation, and construction is 100%.

Very stoked on this rack!

This rack was a cinch to install, which says a lot for someone like me that typically struggles with tools or hardware of any kind. It’s also much lighter than I imagined while still being very sturdy.

I paired this rack with VO’s 1” decaleur and the combination perfectly secured my very large RuthWorks randonneuring bag while allowing for it to be removed quickly when transporting the bike or when I simply want to leave the bag at home for a more spirited ride.

I wish there was another light mount at the very front of the rack. I ordered VO’s “rack to light mount” separately after being unhappy with the included mounting points. I wouldn’t recommend this light mount at all—the included hardware was unusable and it was so flimsy to the point of vibrating (and therefore shaking the light and it’s beam) on even the smoothest of roads. I’ve since switched my light back to one of the rack’s included mounts, which suffices for now until I find a better solution. Maybe I’m just being picky, so this doesn’t at all take away from my five star rating.

I am constantly impressed by VO’s quality. I have now owned several products from them and have been mostly happy each and every time. This purchase certainly didn’t disappoint and I can tell that it’ll hold up for years to come.

Works great, use it daily

If you’re on the fence, get it, and also a wall basket, zip tie, the basket to the rack, it will be your go to for carrying stuff, love it

Good rack

My brake posts are only 70mm apart so I had to tweak the rack a bit to fit, but it was easy and I knew from product description that it would be necessary. It sits just a bit higher than I'd like but only by a little. I'm happy, and I may buy another for the rear.
