Common on European utility bikes, a front wheel stabilizer makes loading front racks simpler. It is a spring connecting the fork to the down tube. It adds a subtle self centering action to the front wheel, making loading and unloading of a bike with a basket, or say, our Porteur Rack much easier. The spring also offers some resistance to steering, so it counteracts deflections from hitting potholes and road debris.

  • Mounts to the back of the fork crown via brake bolt or through bolt
  • Fork crown mount diameter is made to fit an M6 bolt - common on nutted calipers
  • Use Sheldon's Fender Nuts to work with recessed brake bolts
  • Rust resistant and includes all required brackets and hardware
  • Available for Small (31.8mm and smaller) and Large (38-62mm) sized downtubes
  • Instructions can be found here

Keeps the front wheel stable, love it!

looks goofy, but

This is the second one to be installed on the same bike. I took the first one off because it looked, well, goofy and detracted from the bike's good looks. It took two times for the bike to tip over even though it had a two legged kickstand holding it up before I ordered this one. Goofy or not it keeps your expensive bike in the upright and locked posistion. Good enough.

Pleasantly Satisfied

The quality seems good, but the directions could be improved. Luckily, the assembly turned out to be intuitive. It is installed on a balance bike with 16” wheels. Note, the downtube must be round, which can usually only be found in steel (and titanium).

Not up for the job

I have a larger bike with a front rack. A Gazelle Tour Populair with 28 inch wheels. With nothing on the rack, just the wheel size alone is to much for Velo Orange. I can see with the plastic and lack of spring this was a waste. Its simply not up for the job. My frustration is mostly with Gazelle, with this type of bike it should have been addressed in its design. A small bike its fine just not mine.
