Here's a lightweight, but wider, saddle designed for folks who keep their handlebars at or above saddle height. The idea was to make a wider, inexpensive and lightweight saddle that feels something like a leather saddle and has a classic appearance.

At 165mm wide it's about the same width as a Brooks B17 leather saddle. But this is somewhat deceptive because there are no rivets or a flaring leather "skirt." So the sitting area is comparable to a slightly wider leather model. At 425g, the weight is significantly less than that of a modern leather saddle. Length is 282mm, about the same as a Brooks Swallow saddle.

The smooth texture allows you slide around and get comfortable during long rides and ascents. The top is extremely water resistant - great for touring and city bikes. The body is thermo-plastic with a layer of high density foam. The rails are chromoly. All materials are vegan approved.

Decent saddle with vintage look

Got this saddle on clearance. Had already bought the microfibre brown suede saddle which has a relief slot, so I was disappointed when this one didn't have one. I do love the smooth faux leather, makes it much better to readjust over a suede. And the wide version really makes it more comfortable for a guy with bigger behind to fill it. Plastic underneath is a bit flimsy for my weight but it does the job well! VO makes some great stuff for the price. Their value cant be beat

I like this saddle. I use it for utility, pleasure, and fitness riding and it works very well, is solid and comfortable. And at this price a great buy.

Best Saddle on the Market

I have heard many people say, "Buy a brooks for touring!" Well, I did, and hated it. Could get maybe 5 miles before my buttocks started screaming at me. Enter the VeloOrange Smooth Touring Saddle. I put it on my Serotta and rode 50 miles the first day. It was so comfortable I forgot I was riding a bike! It completely changed my riding experience. Just ordered two more for my other two bikes!

Good Saddle

I'm an older guy and I needed a seat for a new build I was working on. The seat isn't a B17, but it is a solid saddle. I like the fact that it is a bit wider too. Saddle loops are a nice touch and the price is right!
