Igor's New Travel Bike

I usually travel with my Neutrino Mini Velo, but since it is going to MADE, I needed to whip something up for a trip. I have been on a real kick of using as much parts bin stuff as possible since ours are so deep. It needed to be something I am ok with getting dinged or scratched, simple, easy to pack, and fun. With some touches here and there, I think we knocked it out of the park with this Rando!

This frame was powder-coated locally for this past year's Philly Bike Expo, and already wears a couple scratches from transport and being built up a couple times, so it isn't perfect - which is perfect for me.

I put together a mishmash drivetrain using an 19t single speed cog, 48t Drillium Chainring, and a single speed chain. It's a nice range for cruising around. I haven't had a single speed in a while and I really appreciate how simple and lightweight it is. It's nice to power down the "I think I am in the right gear" part of my brain when riding. I also added a Yellowbird Threadworks Crank Caps, because bling.

The bars are Bullmoose Bars from Blue Lug. I activated my big brain for this one. I think a 1 bolt handlebar is awesome for travel as opposed to a 6 bolt setup with a conventional bar and stem combo. Luckily, this setup feels great even though it is a fixed position.

Grips are our Foamy with Yellowbird Threadworks Vector plugs. Love these.

Wheels are our old fixed gear hubs (should we bring something like these back??) laced to Enterprise rims. This particular set has been on a handful of different bikes, so I know they're good to go.

Brakes are our reliable and powerful Grand Cru calipers. Loads of clearance for these tires.

Speaking of tires...tires are Continental Urban 700x35mm. They have nice compliance but a bit thicker on the tread so I don't have to worry so much about punctures while out and about.
