MADE 2025, part 2

Continuing with some of our favorites from this year’s MADE! If you haven’t checked out Part 1 yet, jump over and give it a read first. Ok, onwards.

Fiddlehead

Based in Portland, Justin’s work is both gorgeous and thoughtful. His bikes strike exactly the kind of balance we love to see.

Commuter

Built for his wife, this commuter is full of clever custom details, including the rack and stem. Even more impressive, he re-routed the Growtac shifters in a totally unique way—both shifters pull or release cable tension without using the thumb buttons. It involves a long tandem cable running across the bars and back to the derailleur. Don’t ask me how exactly, but it works!

The paint is equally amazing. Matte finishes don’t usually grab me, but this one—with its delicate flower accents (and hidden surprises depending on the angle)—was perfect.

The rack and bag system is smart, too: a flap folds over and locks the bag to the rack for quick, secure on/off.

Sport Tourer

Finished raw and clearcoated, this bike proudly shows off the brazing and fine detail work. The standout was the rear rack with stays that bend to perfectly follow the frame’s lines—a rare and beautiful touch. This one is also outfitted for our Retro Cages, 0 Setback Seatpost, Zeste Brakes, and 650b Fenders!

Bantam

This flat-bar tourer had paint that looked like a root beer float just set down at an ice cream shop (I’m more of an orange soda float kind of guy, but still, perfection). The custom wide stem paired with a standard 22.2mm bar was such a fun, thoughtful detail.

SCH Art with Pinion

One of the most mind-bending bikes of the show: a one-off folding titanium e-bike with 3D-printed components and a custom steering linkage. Instead of a traditional fork, it uses a floating hub shaft design. It turns the hub rather than a fork, I think. Hard to explain—wild to see in person.

Madrone

Our MADE neighbor! These are some super beautiful rear derailleurs with a ton of modularity and some cool upcoming ideas (some of which I've been sworn to secrecy).

Ammon just got his launch edition, all-silver derailleur before the show. Can't wait to see what he puts it on.

Cry Bikes

A kid’s single-speed time trial bike, dripping in gucci bits. I didn’t get a chance to talk to the builders, but wow—this thing is cool. Way too fast for me, but I loved it.

Cameron Sanders

I spotted Cameron walking around with his fat bike (6.2in tires!) and had to stop him. Turns out he’s running our Growtac brakes and swears by them for frozen river riding in Alaska. Other mechanical brakes, he said, have too much surface area and freeze up—but the Growtacs keep rolling.

He’s recommended them to a bunch of friends. Definitely check out his video for Wren Sports—it’s full of breathtaking winter riding.

That’s a wrap on our highlights from this year’s MADE! A huge thank you to everyone who came by our booth, joined us at the party, squeezed a brake lever or two, and simply shared in the fun. This show continues to be such a special gathering of builders, riders, and friends, and we’re already looking forward to next year. See you in 2026!

The “paddle shift” mode has been advertized by Growtac, but is not explained in the user manual of the levers. Can’t you ask them to explain how to do it ? And eventually update the manual ?
