City Bike Brake Levers

$18.00

Many people have asked us where they can get old-fashioned city bike levers, the type that CLB and Mafac and a dozen other companies used to make.

We found what is probably the best model that fits in with those classic styles. They are all alloy with good quality castings and a nice shiny finish. They use a stainless steel clamp. These levers work with caliper and cantilever brakes, but not V-brakes.

Best of all, they are available in both MTB (22.2mm) and road bar (23.8mm) sizes, so you won't have to scour eBay or the back rooms of old bike shops looking for vintage levers.

Levers include the button-type cable housing ends, but if you want a barrel adjustor, grab these from Dia-Compe.

 Sold as a pair.

Great Fit, Quality, Value

I needed a lever set that would fit on the curved portion of a setback bar without breaking the bank. The levers have minimal flex and are large enough for the entire hands to fit over. With my caliper brakes, the cable cherries fit a little sloppily and had a tendency to pop off; I remedied this easily with a little crazy glue. Recommended

New bars and brake levers

On a second Schwinn LeTour I’m converting from drop bars to city bars. Makes a nice more rideable bike for an old guy like me. Velo Orange Tourist bars and City Bike levers, really nice stuff.
