Grand Cru Brake Levers
These are simply really nice brake levers. They're lightweight, comfortable, and feature an exceptionally smooth lever throw.
- Compatible with both road (23.8mm) and MTB/city sized (22.2mm) handlebar grip areas - includes shims.
- Adjusting screw to dial in reach.
- Barrel adjustor to increase or decrease cable tension.
- Available in Regular (caliper, cantilever, and center-pull) and Linear (V-brake) pull ratios in both Silver and Noir finishes. Check with you brake's manufacturer to determine the pull ratio if there are any questions.
- Weight is 76g per pair. Careful not to let them blow away!
Price is per pair. Instructions on installation can be found here
Was looking for some short-pull levers for a flat-bar conversion on a Tommasini from the 80's with full Campy Chorus...fit and finish is spot-on, very nice feel, looks real nice. Was looking for an alternative to Paul Canti Levers, which I'm sure are awesome too, but stock was out. Glad it was, otherwise I wouldn't have found these and would have spent at least 2x as much on the Pauls...Love these.
loved the way these look and they installed really easily and work well... just simple, sexy, and good.
These are excellent levers, they look beautiful, they are silly light (if your into the whole weight savings thing), they operate buttery smooth. It's nice that they include the "shims" so you can use them on 22.2 bars too (though mine are the usual 23.8 road style), I bought the "regular pull" versions for my dual pivot calipers on my single speed and I couldn't be happier with them. AAA+++
Would have been an easy swap, but my cables have the large MTB-style barrel ends, and I don't feel like recabling the whole bike. Wish I knew this before I bought them!
The 'mushroom' style cable end is most typical for road brake levers on drop bars. The flat disc cable end that is compatible with the Grand Cru Brake Levers is most common for mountain bike and flat bar brake levers. If you are using a flat bar and have the 'mushroom' style ends, the Tektro FL750 levers are compatible with that type of cable.
Actually, not used, just yet. Going on a custom Piolet build for a customer, being mated to a Motoko/Ultimo Yokozuna brake setup. Build breakdown to come (The Illiterate Cyclist) As is, they look excellent, can be had in either pull ratio (appreciate the foresight), and seem to way near nothing (but very solid).
