Grand Cru Long Reach Brakeset
The Grand Cru Long Reach (47-57mm) caliper brakes are super stiff, probably the stiffest long reach brakes ever made. In testing, we found these to outperform every other long reach brake and many short reach racing brakes that cost significantly more. The smooth, dual-pivot design offers superb modulation and power - very important on a steep mountain descent. There is even clearance for 45mm fenders!
These are made in a small shop in Taiwan run by a former bike racer and engineer. The brake's finish is anodized and highly polished, so they'll look great for years to come. The included brake shoes come with high quality pads and take standard Shimano-type replacements.
Gravel Bike did a review of the brakes here.
Wrench and a carbon fork mounting nut are included. 355gms per pair including shoes, pads, and nuts.
Sold as a set, front and rear. Available in Polished Silver and Noir.
This is a sweet brakeset. They are very stiff as mentioned and have excellent stopping power. There is no flex or weakness when braking. I previously had some very cheap caliper brakes on an old SE draft light frame, and these brakes are a massive upgrade. Not only are they useful, they are beautiful.

These brakes absolutely rip. I can now unhesitatingly bomb hills, blast corners and ride like a mad man Knowing that I can safely stop in seconds flat. Money absolutely we’ll spent.
While undoubtedly more expensive than the other long reach caliper breaks on the market, these are well worth the price. Most importantly, the breaking power is fantastic. The polished silver will give any retro bike an awesome look. Don’t skimp out on the most important safety feature on your bike. I highly recommend these breaks.
So I’m still waiting for a few more bike parts that are on back order. They are mounted and look great but have not been tested yet!
