Grand Cru Long Reach Brakeset

The Grand Cru Long Reach (47-57mm) caliper brakes are super stiff, probably the stiffest long reach brakes ever made. In testing, we found these to outperform every other long reach brake and many short reach racing brakes that cost significantly more. The smooth, dual-pivot design offers superb modulation and power - very important on a steep mountain descent. There is even clearance for 45mm fenders!

These are made in a small shop in Taiwan run by a former bike racer and engineer. The brake's finish is anodized and highly polished, so they'll look great for years to come. The included brake shoes come with high quality pads and take standard Shimano-type replacements.

Gravel Bike did a review of the brakes here.

Wrench and a carbon fork mounting nut are included. 355gms per pair including shoes, pads, and nuts.

Sold as a set, front and rear. Available in Polished Silver and Noir.

Brakes are a game changer

These were not cheap but worth every penny,I changed my 70s road bike brakes to these because i was afraid to ride in NYC traffic, pedestrians jumping out of nowhere taxis etc, They are gorgeous, strong and light and most of all smooth, The only thing is I wish they were a little bit longer because it barely cleared my tire, the brake arms are thick enough that it would not have changed the braking power! Highly recommended!

STOP, NO problem, looks even better

Just installed these on a vintage Chrome 1972 Schwinn Paramount. Had Campy brakes, but been riding this vintage bike almost every day and needed all the stopping power I could have. These brakes not only have super stopping power but the fit and finish is much better than the side pull Campagnolo. Love Velo Orange because they are one of the best for not only vintage appearing items, but give us folks items that appreciate quality had to find parts.

Best brakes I have ever used.

These are easily the best modulating and stopping brakes I have never used. (of any reach, not just long reach). I have bikes with disc brakes as well, but nothing beats the feel and control of the Grand Cru brake set, especially on twisting descents where you need to scrub a lot of speed confidently.

When it rains, you can't beat discs, but these still do an admirable job. If you have a bike requiring long reach rim brakes, these are the ones to get.

Nice braking

They're beautifull and they work very well.

I wanted some styles, but yet functional brakes on my Steamroller built. So far, I am impressed. I use Shimano Ultegra rim brakes on my road bike, and the VO brakes are in no way behind the braking power of the short range Shimano brakes. Apart from being good brakes, the build quality is top notch and they look very sleek.
