These Dia-Compe 610s are super stiff CNC machined centerpulls with 47 to 61mm reach and loads of room for fenders. The version that only VO offers has been upgraded with VO alloy cartridge brake shoes and VO pads - this makes adjusting toe-in easy.

  • Works with recessed or nutted brake bolts
  • Two bolt spacers are included to allow them to fit most older frames as well as modern ones
  • Includes cable hanger and straddle cable
  • Compatible with any Shimano-type pads

Price is per wheel, one brake.

Note: Use only Dia Compe straddle cables. Use of longer straddle cables can cause problems.

Perfect for a restoration

I put these on my Centurion Pro Tour to replace the unfortunately underpowered wide-profile cantis that it came with. These brakes look fantastic with their high-polish finish, are simple to install if you know what you're doing, and offer excellent, linear modulation and the ability to lock both wheels when needed.

A couple points, not so much negatives, but things to be aware of:

The supplied hardware is a little on the short side if you're installing on a nutted frame. On both brakes I had to omit one of the two beveled washers that help fix the hardware to the frame. This seems to be working out okay so far.

The salmon brake pads pictured in this listing do *not* come with the brakes. These were supplied with a dark blue brake pad. I'm sure they're fine, and I put them aside for a rainy day, but I installed a set of salmon Kool stops because I like them.

Beautiful brake set

Built up a 70’s Motobecanse Grabd Record with these. Watched some videos on line for setting up center pull brakes. Toed in the pads and they work well and look great. Tires are 27” x 1-1/4” gator skins.

610 brakes

Just received mine and found the bolts and spacers provided did not work with the rear brake on my 1980 Mclean. It has a 17mm long barrel mid brake bridge that rendered the bolt that came with the brake too short. A trip to the hardware found me a long enough bolt, but to make it work I had to improvise a spacer. One or two additional spacers would have been nice to include with the brake (the rear came with only one spacer, the front two). Other than that installation was easy. Waiting on some more parts before I get to try them out!
