The Klunker Bar will quickly become your favorite handlebar. These upright, chromoly handlebars are the perfect position for bombing dirt roads, a trek across town to visit the new coffee shop, and loaded touring. The Klunker is 680mm wide, has a comfortable 45° sweep, and 3" (7.6cm) of rise. The clamp diameter is 25.4mm and the grip area is 22.2mm - standard outer diameters for mountain and city brakes and shifters. The perfect set of handlebars for my Lectric XP ebike; transformed riding my XP into a much more comfortable experience. The Klunker Bar is about 5" wider than the one that came on my Lectric XP, has a 5" rise and a comfortable 45 degree sweepback. It was very easy to install & didn't require purchasing any additional parts ... everything fit very nicely. Extremely well-made & the black matched my bike perfectly. Well worth the extra cost to get this level of quality.
I like the bar, in the middle of building a bike for my girlfriend, when I came across a youtube vid explaining the origins of the cruiser bike motocross handlebar Klunker style bike kickstarting the evolution of the modern day mountain bike, the bar is comfortable 27in wide 81/2 bar end to crossbar , nice addition and centerpiece to the bike.
I just installed the Klunker bar on my Surly Pugsley. I needed to be more upright because of surgeries and I ride long distances on the beach and gravel roads. I love these bars- they are great, fun, I’m upright, the bike handles great! The sweep and angle is perfect for me. I’m 5’9” on a small bike. I chose these to the Surly Sunrise which are wider and do not angle back as much - haven’t tried those but I think I made the right choice.
