Form & Function

A great crankset that is readily available and you don’t have to hunt through eBay to find. In a land of all black everything bike parts, it’s nice to know that there are still some silver goodness out there. Paired this with the VO square tapered bottom bracket and it definitely cranks well. Solid purchase.

Works Great

Simple and effective. I’ve had them through so much in the snow, mud, and rain. The inside gear is great for a bail out on the steep or deep stuff.

Warranty action is great! Sheered off crank arm! Broke off while pedaling, nearly hit by car/fell

Update: VO is replacing the crankarms under warranty, they were super quick to reply to my review and very helpful. Never needed to deal with Velo Orange warranty process before but it’s been easy and better than expected.

Original review: I was pedaling up a small rise when the drive side crank arm sheered off and cracked FAST causing me to hurt my legs and nearly fell in front of traffic. I was shocked to see the crankset just broke right off. I’ll be following up with VO about a warranty replacement, but I’m not sure I’d fee safe using it again. Otherwise have LOVED this crankset, have an IRD Defiant set that’s nearly the same (only difference is BCD) but really was hurt today and it could have been much worse. I’ll update here once I can get a hold of VO to see if this will be replaced as defective.
