Can’t attest to if the reach is long enough to fit a 650b rim on my 700c road bike (it sure looks like it’s long enough though), but the brakes are fantastic, very nice finish, and they open up very wide, so I don’t have any problem fitting fenders or removing wheels with tires fully inflated!

That is what I use them for. Fatter tires for the win.

If you find yourself needing a center mounted, extra long reach side pull brake, not only is this an excellent choice, it may well be the only choice in 2023 and going forward! For years I have used Paul's center mounted, center pull Racer brakes on my 2011 Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen. While they are exactly what you would expect from Paul, they can be a bit fiddley, especially if you like to play around with different bar, brake lever, and shifter combinations. I had hoped the VO Grand Cru Long Reach Brakes would work here but they were a few millimeters too short (but did find a good home on my newer Roadini!) These Tektro R559 brakes are considerably longer in reach. They aren't as stiff as either the Paul or the VO Grand Cru but they completely functional. I like to run Kool Stop Thinline brake pads and with these, the Tektros really shine. So now I have the simplicity of set-up and operation of a traditional side pull brake with all the stopping power I need.

I used these to convert a 700c bike to 650b. They did the trick perfectly. Love the price too!

These are replacing weinman centerpulls on an old 70s era Puch 10-speed frame that I'm building up as a city bike using a 590-35 wheelset with a Shimano 7-speed internally geared hub. Since these were advertised as "good for 650B conversions" I expected no problem fitting a slightly larger wheel. The reach of the new brakes was just barely long enough for the pads to hit the rim and not the tire. The new brakes do have a nice feel compared to the old centerpulls and they are a bit heavy.
