The VO Tall-Stack Stem offers a super clean look on a modern bike. The angle is 17 degrees, so the stem is level on most frames. Available in polished Silver and Noir. The stem is cold forged alloy with a polished finish.

Great looking stem

I was a little concerned about the angle of the stem, but the height to angle ratio seem to work out really well with no issues

It's a stem. quality is top notch, and allowed me to raise my bars to the sweet spot

Nice but what to do on a quill adapter?

I have this on an early 90's Allez with a quill threadless stem adapter. It works fine as designed and built and worth the 5-stars. But two issues arose due to me not considering the design carefully enough for my needs.

First, I'd like to clamp it flush with the steerer nut but the threadless stem adapter tapers right where the clamp bolt is so the clamp can not get purchase. It is necessary to mount the stem a bit higher above the taper. I wanted a tall stack after all so this extra height poses no real problem.

Second, this is really meant for a true threadless steerer tube. On the adapter there is of course no pretension cap so the top of the stem remains open. On the plus side, that gives me a little pocket in the stem arm to stash small things. But, it would be nice to find some shiny metal cap that would plug up where normally the pretension cap goes in order to hide my stash and keep dust out.
