Velo Orange

These things got here fast, look cool, and work great! Not hard to set up either. Great cable disk brakes, night and day difference from the brakes they’re replacing (Tektro Miras, I absolutely needed to upgrade them- they came stock on my bike)!

I was originally worried that the wider width and moderate back sweep would change my preferred riding position too much from the very swept back Nitto B438 bars I was running, but the change was minimal. These bars are rad!

It took me a while to find the perfect stem and this is it. I’ve got a surly and I wanted to go with a smaller handlebar diameter because I kind of wanted a cruiser bar and it’s hard if you don’t wanna go with a quill stem, which I didn’t, and this looks amazing. It’s super strong and functional and looks unreal good on my bike.

Feels good, fits good. The quality of the material and printing is top notch. I have several of their cycling products and the is just as good. Exactly what I’ve come to expect from Velo Orange.

Haven’t installed them yet since I’m going to a shop to have them install it, since I don’t have crank arm bolts without the black plastic washers that come standard. Overall, these feel really solid. I’m sure that once they’re properly installed, they’ll make my vintage single speed bike look extra classy!

So far I have ridden about 70 miles with this bottom bracket on my single speed and they feel smooth. The silver matches the other silver parts on my bike and overall, I have nothing to complain about!

The most enjoyable set of brakes I've ever had on a bike.

Long term review here of about 2 years and a few thousand miles. Love these bars. The subtle flare and swept back design are great, and the whole design just works for my hands. As a bonus, they just look classy. I also love the 46mm wide size. These are about the most comfortable bars I've spent any real time on and I've tried many different bars over the years. For example, moustache handlebars and gravel bars with a lot of flare are comfy for certain situations, but often don't work for me - I commute in the city and need to squeeze through traffic and into tight spaces daily. These bars hit such a great sweet spot - road rides, gravel riding, commuting, touring, short or long days in the saddle... no matter what kind of a ride these feel right. Like a good saddle, I forget all about them and just enjoy the ride.

Good so far. Like the look and feel and will know more come spring.

Crazy Bars

upgraded from MKS Sylvan Touring looking to try a bigger platform pedal. I was a bit skeptical of the difference when buying, but was blown away by how much more substantial of a platform is. It makes a big difference when wearing Vans. Thanks Velo Orange!
